Beneficios y limitaciones del Sello de Calidad INEN: un estudio exploratorio en organizaciones del Ecuador (Estudios)

| dc.description | The objective of this research project is to identify the main benefits and limitations that arise in Ecuadorian organizations when accessing INEN Quality Seal certification. Twenty-two semi-structured interviews were conducted with a segment that has the certification. These were directed at quality-related personnel: supervisors, directors, and managers, whose experience allowed for an in-depth examination of factors obtained not only from certification but also from management systems, as well as the theoretical validation of the external and internal benefits offered by the international ISO standard. The benefits identified included exportation, increased competitiveness, product improvement, and improved customer expectations, among others. Among the limitations were the implementation and adaptation of laboratories, the search for equipment and technology that comply with standards, trained personnel, excessive documentation, costs, and regulations, among others. The analysis carried out converges on the opportunities found in the differentiation of their products. The present threats remain constant due to new competitors who prioritize price, which leads to the loss of potential customers. | |
| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo identificar los principales beneficios y limitaciones que surgen en las organizaciones ecuatorianas al momento de acceder a la certificación del Sello de Calidad INEN. Se ejecutaron 22 entrevistas semiestructuradas a un segmento que cuenta con la certificación. Estas fueron dirigidas al personal afín a la calidad: jefes, directores y gerentes, por su experiencia. Se profundizó en los factores obtenidos no solo de certificación, sino también de los sistemas de gestión, así como la validación teórica de los beneficios externos e internos que el estándar internacional ISO ofrece. Se identificaron los siguientes beneficios: exportación, incremento de competitividad, mejoramiento del producto, mejora de las expectativas del cliente, entre otros. Entre las limitaciones: implementación y adecuación de laboratorios, búsqueda de equipos y tecnología que cumplan con los estándares, personal capacitado, exceso de documentación, costos, normativa, entre otras. El análisis realizado converge en las oportunidades que se encuentran en la diferenciación de sus productos. Las amenazas presentes se mantienen constantes por nuevos competidores que anteponen el precio, lo que conlleva pérdida de potenciales clientes. | |
