Resumen / Abstract: Más que una investigación, el presente trabajo intenta ser una guía didáctica del contenido básico del contrato de servicios petroleros en pozo. En este documento, se describe los elementos particulares del contrato, incluyendo sus razones técnicas y como la ley ecuatoriana contribuye al proceso de formación del mismo. En ciertos casos, se hace referencia al tratamiento que otras legislaciones latinoamericanas otorgan al elemento en cuestión del contrato. Este trabajo no incluye -no era intención- un extenso análisis jurídico o doctrinario sobre el Derecho de Contratos en general, ni tampoco una propuesta para reformas legislativas que viabilicen un marco jurídico más adecuado para la industria hidrocarburífera en el Ecuador. Su única intención es ser herramienta útil para aquellas personas que desean conocer en la práctica como un contrato de este tipo debe ser redactado. Se incluye también ciertas consideraciones prácticas que pueden llegar a ser útiles en la etapa de negociación del contrato.

What are "Moral Rights"?
