dc.description.abstractAl oeste del estado de Nueva York, área que en esta época se tiñe de tonos rojos y anaranjados, existe una población de mujeres casi invisibles, trabajadoras agrícolas en su mayoría. (1) El 80% de estos cientos de miles de trabajadoras en Estados Unidos son inmigrantes. En el nuevo contexto del "sueño globalizador americano" estas mujeres trabajan un promedio de 12 horas al día, en condiciones peligrosas y obligadas a confrontar sólidas barreras que impiden su acceso a una alimentación nutritiva, a servicios de salud, a educación y a viviendas adecuadas para ellas y sus familias. ¿Quiénes son estas mujeres y en qué condiciones desempeñan su trabajo? ¿qué patrón migratorio siguen? ¿qué nos dicen ellas en sus testimonios acerca de su situación como residentes sin servicios y personajes migratorios? Y, finalmente, ¿qué papel pueden jugar organizaciones como el Instituto de la Trabajadora Agrícola para facilitar la incorporación de estas campesinas en sus nuevas comunidades e inclusive apoyarlas en su resistencia al papel que se les ha impuesto como personajes movibles dentro de la nueva economía global.es_ES

What are "Moral Rights"?
